WHO HASHEM TREASURES AND WHY

Hashem wants to give us an unlimited amount of blessings. However, there is a fixed limit accessible to the world at any given time; for instance, a cap of 1,000 gigabytes of kindness, forgiveness, patience, and mercy, etc.

Hashem designed the world so that He relies on us to unlock and release more blessings to the world.

Turning the Key

Think of it like a safety vault that requires two separate keys to open; a single key isn’t enough. In the same way, Hashem holds one key to kindness, forgiveness, and patience, etc., and we hold the second key.

When we rise to the challenge by showing patience, giving unconditionally, or forgiving, we turn our key. Hashem can then release more gigabytes of blessings to billions of people.

Turning Your Key in Real Life

Imagine having a conflict with a coworker: instead of reacting angrily, you resolve it calmly.

Or even more powerfully, at home where no one else sees, you choose patience with your spouse. When an argument arises, you decide: “You know what? Even if my spouse was wrong, I won’t continue this fight.” You have every reason to keep arguing, yet you choose to forgive.

You have just turned your key.

Because you rose to the challenge, Hashem will release more gigabytes of patience, forgiveness, and kindness into the world for billions of people.

It’s up to us to release more blessings into this world.

How does Hashem reward his most valuable people?

Just as top companies reward their top employees with high salaries and great perks because they have rare skills that benefit many people, Hashem treasures and cares deeply for people who practice the 13 Midot and help turn the key to unlock His blessings for billions of people.

Top companies treat its most valuable employees with chef-cooked gourmet meals, excellent healthcare, private drivers, flexible hours, and paid vacations. If they make a mistake, the company overlooks it.

In a similar way, Hashem rewards His most valuable people with financial success, good health, a good name, wisdom, and extra protection. He gives them peace of mind, meaningful relationships, spiritual growth, and forgiveness when they sin.

Making yourself essential to Hashem’s mission

Some employees are easily replaceable, while others are critical to a company’s success. If a key employee is missing, the whole business struggles.

That’s exactly what you are to Hashem. He wants to flood the world with blessings, and by practicing the 13 Midot, you serve as the essential player who helps Him turn the second key to release blessings into the world.

Hashem truly wants to shower the world with millions of gigabytes of kindness. By practicing these 13 Midot, such individuals help open the floodgates of blessings.

And just as top companies protect and reward its top talent, Hashem showers these priceless individuals with ultimate protection, success, health, and peace of mind.

The greater the test, the greater the reward.

The harder the skill, the more valuable the employee. The same is true when it comes to practicing the 13 Midot.

For example, practicing patience or forgiveness is particularly difficult for you. Rising above that difficulty unlocks far greater blessings than it does for someone for whom these qualities come naturally.

The greater the test, the greater the reward.

The 13 Midot are the most powerful source of blessings.

The Gemara teaches us a powerful promise from Hashem: When we practice the 13 Midot, like compassion, patience, kindness, forgiveness, and all the beautiful qualities of Hashem, our prayers are heard and answered.

The Geonim and the Alshich explain that there is a deeper message here. It is not enough to simply say the 13 Midot with our lips. We are asked to practice them in our daily lives. And then we can turn to Hashem and pray with the confidence that He hears our prayers.
